Birthday Timeline
Students used internet to find other people who share their birthday, important events that happened on that date, and anyone who died on that day in history. After they find this information they use Excel to create a timeline of sorts to display this information.
Digital Story with Stuffed Animal
This is my favorite project of the year. Kids bring in a character for the story from home or use some of my collection. They take pictures of the character around school. Each week we venture to a new part of the building including lobby, caferteria, outside playground, bus platform, classroom, etc. to take pictures of the characters doing something. The kids love this project and really get creative. They form a story around their pictures and use powerpoint to tell the story. They learn how to add slides, pictures as backgrounds, images, slide layouts, slides colors, animations, transitions, fonts, speech bubbles, and so much more while strengthening their writing skills at the same time.
